Day 55 of coronavirus in France
Day 4 of enforced confinement
This is only temporary.
We dream of the day that we can throw open our doors and embrace our neighbors. Dream and plan to celebrate when quarantine is over. Until we keep our loved ones safe by seeing them virtually.
Today we had an inside beach. Inspired by Daniel the Tiger, it’s a tradition that our family has held for a while and it was a much-needed oasis in the chaos of a life turned topsy-turvy. We laid out a blue blanket for the water and a beige blanket for the sand and dressed in swimsuits and hula dress-up outfits. Cami served herself a mint sparkling water. A few years ago our doctor Nam bought us a water sparkling machine so we don’t even have to go to the store for that. And we have a mint bush in the garden that is coming back lush and healthy.
There’s plenty to be thankful for.
All day we video called people from our inside beach and even attended work meetings in this setting for the day. lol
Dissect the term social distancing. Focus on increasing social contact while maintain physical distancing. Increase social contact by phone and media.
Staying connected means something different to everybody. We don’t all need to dress for a luau to answer a video call with the boss, like I did. But if you have a chance to bring sunshine into someone’s day, then by all means be a light.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
— Apostle Paul (Philippians 4:6-7)
