Cami Turned Seven!
Peace and freedom flow when we start new traditions rather than striving to recreate the past. Maybe this year you celebrate that memorable day by looking at your photo memories. Or maybe you throw out the old and ring in the new. Cami chose a little of both.
Obey your leaders in all things. Do not obey just when they are watching you, to gain their favor. But serve them honestly, because you respect the Lord. In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were working for the Lord, not for men.
The Apostle Paul, (Colossians 3:22-23)
She practiced her addition and subtraction while weighing the dry ingredients on a balance. Oops, she accidentally put in 17g of salt when the recipe called for 7g. How many does she need to subtract? She did all the math.
Then she learned about the density of liquids when we measured all liquids in a big measuring cup and watched them layer on top of each other. In order from heaviest: egg, milk, coffee, oil, and vanilla extract that all go in her cupcakes.
We popped the cupcakes out of the oven right on time to start the global tea party. We put the candles in and before we could even sing the candles started falling over. The bottom of the candles were MELTING because the cakes were still hot!!! We laughed and learned not to do that again! Do you see something that looks like a wick on the bottom of the candle? Yeah, the whole bottom half of the candle wax melted off into the cake leaving nothing but the wick sticking out. Astounding.
She enjoyed a full tea party of undivided attention from her Aunt Kimmy, who attended remotely but also wore formal dress and prepared cucumber finger sandwiches, chocolate croissants, and a Camimile tea. (not a misspelling, it’s a blend of the word chamomile and Cami’s name). When Kim endeavors to do something she’s all-in at 200%!
I promised Cami a photo collage of her virtual party guests who stopped by her tea party by calling to wish her happy birthday today. So this is what her party guests looked like. I might be missing a few photos, but I hope to add those just as soon as they roll in…
