When I found out that the new neighborhood participates in trick-or-treating, it didn’t take long at all before the decision was made to monopolize on the affair. If neighbors were going to be stopping by they might as well come in for a drink and get to know each other… And so a new tradition was born.
Nine families came in for a drink. One of the neighbors whispered in my ear, “This is really a fantastic idea. A very American idea, but a fantastic idea.”
